June 4, Umuhuza organisation joined VSO Rwanda in a one day media workshop alongside other development partners intervening in play. The workshop aimed at engaging media practitioners& social media influencers in the promotion of learning through play.
The event was organised ahead of the International Day of #Play, which will be celebrated on June 11 for the first time. The day was declared an annual event at the United Nations General Assembly held in March 2024.
In fact, Umuhuza integrates play in #parenting where parents and caregivers are empowered to make toys using locally available materials in order to improve parenting practices and ensure well-being of children.
Umuhuza considers the International Day of Play as a space to raise awareness and advocate for the importance of #play for the young children from early age, and the role of parents to engage their children using play in daily life.
